Pass Line Bet
- First, place chips in the area marked ‘pass’ and roll the dice.
- If you, or the Shooter, roll a 7 or 11, you win.
- If you, or the Shooter, roll a 2, 3 or 12, you lose
- If you, or the Shooter, roll any other number, that number becomes the ‘point number’
- If you, or the Shooter, roll the point number before rolling a 7, you win
- If you, or the Shooter, roll a 7 before rolling the point number, you lose
Don’t Pass Bar Bet
- You are betting that the shooter will lose (opposite of pass line bet)
- You win the bet if the shooter rolls a 2 or 3.
- If the shooter rolls a 12 it’s a ‘standoff’, and nobody wins.

- If the shooter rolls any other number this becomes the ‘point number’.

- An odd bet can be made at any moment once the point number has been set.
- This is a side bet to wager whether the point number or a 7 will be rolled first.
- You can ‘take odds’ on the come or don’t come bet or the pass line or don’t pass bet.
- You can remove, lower, or increase your bet at any time.
- You win the bet if the original bet wins.
- Bets with odds pays 2-1 on points of 4 and 10, 3-2 on a 5 and 9, and 6-5 on a 6 and 8 – meaning there is no house edge.
Come Bet
- It can be made while a round is in progress, as is independent of the pass bet.
- The next roll is the ‘come out roll’, where you win or lose or the point number is established.
- If the shooter rolls a 7 or an 11 the come bet wins.
- If the shooter rolls a 2, 3, or 12, the bet is lost.
- The point number is set if any other number is rolled, this is independent of the pass bet point number. If the shooter rolls this number before the 7 the come bet wins.
Don’t Come Bet
- The opposite of the come bet, but it is also made while a round is in progress.
- If the shooter rolls a 2 or a 3 then you win the don’t come bet.
- If the shooter rolls a 7 or an 11 then you lose the don’t come bet.
- If the shooter rolls a 12 then the bet is tied.
- The point number is established if any other number is rolled.
- If a 7 is rolled before the point number then you win the Don’t Come bet.
Place Bets
- Players bet that one number of their choice will be rolled before the seven.
- Players choose that either a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 will be rolled.
- No commission is charged on a place bet and no pass bet is required.
Field
- The field is a one-time bet that the next roll will be a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12
- All wins pay 1-1, except the 2 and 12 pay more.

Buy Bets
This is very similar to the place bet or odds bet, but with different odds on the bet, and you also pay a 5% vig (vigour to profits) on the bet, as a result of this bet having no house advantage (known as ‘true odds’).

Lay Bets

- 1-2 for a 4 or 10

Big 6 & 8 Bet
The Big 6 & 8 Bets are the same as the place bets, except for the fact that they give even money, instead of 7 to 6 like the place bet. The odds are better on the place bet so you should avoid this bet.
Hard Ways
To win a hard way bet you have to roll one of the following combinations: 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, or 5-5. This bet can be made at any time and you win if the dice combination you bet on is rolled, and you lose if you get the same total you bet on but with different combinations, or if a 7 is rolled.
Payout:
- 9-1 for a hard 6 (3-3) and 8 (4-4)
- 7-1 for a hard 4 (2-2) and 10 (5-5)
Proposition Bets
The proposition bets can be made on any roll of the dice and are only valid for the next roll of the dice. What sets these bets apart from similar bets are the odds on them. They are definitely not as favourable, but it can add excitement and edge to the game to bet on them.

- Two Craps or Aces / Snake Eyes: You win if you roll a 2 and it pays 30-1.
- Twelve Craps or Two Sixes / Boxcars: You win if you roll a 12 and you will lose the bet on all other numbers. This horn bet pays 30-1.
- Three Craps or Ace Deuce / Cross-eyes: You win if you roll a 3, and you lose the bet on all other numbers. Pays 15-1.

Horn High Bets

Shooters may also be ‘sevened out’ before you reach 5-count as well, so you won’t be able to place a bet on all shooters.
Remember to keep in mind that regardless of which method you decide to take when betting in online Craps, the house will always hold the advantage on your bets. The 5-count method will improve your chances of winning though, as you will be betting on good shooters.
What does the 5-count Craps Strategy do?
When you are playing Craps online you are betting on shooters, and not rolling yourself. And when you are on a winning streak with a shooter you want to maximise that opportunity as best you can.
What the 5-count method does is eliminate the amount of bad shooters that you’re betting on, and allows you to cash in on the ones that are showing a bit of longevity at the table.

How does it work?
The 5-count method starts with a point number and ends with a point number, and you start betting after 5 points have been made. You count as follows to determine when to start betting:
- When a new shooter at the Craps table takes the dice to make the come out roll, the first roll of the dice, the count is zero.
- When the shooter rolls a point roll (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10), the count is one. If the shooter rolls any other number the count remains at zero.
- For each following roll after a point roll, regardless of what the outcome is, you keep counting 1 per roll until you reach 4.
- For the roll, after you have 4-count the shooter must roll a point number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) for the next point to be added to reach a total count of five. This can be any of the point numbers. The count remains at 4 if you roll any other number.
- Once the count reaches five points, you can now place bets on the craps table, but only the safe come or place bets. Stay clear of the one roll proposition bets.
If you stick to this betting method, it should improve your chances of winning. Some shooters only roll a few times before ‘sevening out’, so this will ensure that you are not throwing your money at these unreliable shooters. You want to be betting on the shooters who are able to remain at the table rolling the dice for longer periods of time.
The 5-count Craps Strategy in Practice
So you can see how this method works in practice, we’ll go through this method as if a new shooter is now rolling the dice:
- Let’s say on the first roll, the come out roll, the shooter rolls a three. Your count will remain at zero as the number is not a point number, as you only start counting if a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 is rolled.
- You have to start counting on the second roll regardless of the number rolled, so if the shooter then rolls an 11 on the 2nd roll of the dice, your count is at 1.
- If the shooter rolls a 5 on the 3rd roll, your count is 2, if the shooter rolls a 2 on the 4th roll, your count is 3.
- If the shooter rolls an 8 on the 5th roll, the count is now 4 (or at ‘4-count’).
- To count the final point after the 4-count the shooter must roll a point number.
- So if the shooter rolls a 3 on the 6th roll, you don’t count, you remain at 4-count.
- If the 7th roll is a 9, a point number, then you get to 5-count.
- The roll after the 5-count roll you can start placing your bets, as the risk of you losing with this particular shooter has been decreased significantly. Remember that if the first roll is a point number, you start counting with that first roll.

Don’t Pass Bet: A bet that the come-out roll will be a 12, 3 or 2 and which loses if it’s 7 or 11. Any other number rolled becomes the point number.
Field bet: A bet that the next roll will be a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12. This bet pays even money.
Front Line Bet: Same as the pass line bet.
Hardway bet: A bet that the shooter will roll a 4, 6, 8, or 10, and the dice have be rolled as pairs (2-2, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5).
Hop bet: A one-time roll bet that the next roll will be a particular combination of the dice, such as that the next roll will result in one particular combination of the dice, such as 4-1, or 2-3. Once you bet on the one combination, you will lose on all other combinations rolled.
Horn bet: A one-time roll bet that the next roll will be 2, 3, 11 or 12. The player will have a unit bet on each number. The 2 and 12 pay 30 to1, and the 3 and 11 pay 15 to1.
Inside numbers: A place bet on 5, 6, 8 and 9.
Insurance bet: Two or more bets to partially cover one another if one loses.
Lay bet: A bet that the shooter rolls a 7 before the point number, made by a wrong-way bettor.
Lay odds: An additional bet made by wrong-way bettors after a don’t pass or don’t come bet which offers true odds.
Little Joe: Table lingo for a 4.
Natural: When the come-out roll is a 7 or an 11.
Outside numbers: Numbers 4, 5, 9 and 10.
Pass line bet: This is the most common bet in Craps. This bet wins if the come-out roll is a 7 or an 11, and loses with a 2, 3 or 12, while all other numbers establish a point.
Place bet: A bet that a place number of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 will be rolled before a 7. This bet pays 9 to 8, 7 to 5 or 7 to 6 depending on the number you bet on.
Point: The point is the betting number established for the rest of the round when the come-out roll is either a 4,5,6,8,9 or 10. Right-way bettors will place bets for the point to be rolled before a 7, and wrong-way bettors for a 7 to be rolled before the point.
Proposition bets: All hardway and one-roll bets in the centre of the table layout.
Right-way better: A player who is betting with the shooter for the point number to be rolled before the 7.
Seven out: When a 7 is rolled before the point number, after a point has been established. This ends the round and the shooter changes.
Shooter: The player who rolls the dice.
Stickman: The casino employee in charge of handling and calling the dice number.
With the dice: When you play with the dice you are playing for the point number to be rolled before a 7. A right-way bettor plays with the dice.
Wrong-way better: A player who bets that a 7 will be rolled before the point number once the point number has been established and the shooter will seven-out. A wrong-way bettor plays against the dice.
Yo: The number 11, also called yo-leven, in order to avoid confusion with the number 7 as they sound very similar.
